I use the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick. It does require a certain posture at your desk, which can get very uncomfortable. It's the only control method I'm certain enough in to run fixed weapons instead of gimballed. I can develop some serious G-forces, insane stunts while keeping my target in my sights. Precise controls with one hand, leaving the other free to use the targeting hotkeys and stuff lik FA toggling. Joystick (Single stick with keyboard nearby) is what i'll switch to for combat. You can do okay in combat, but it's a bit unwieldy. It allows me to cruise while kicking it back. I prefer it for exploration since I don't need to pull any insane manouvres doing so. You do still need your keyboard nearby because the controller doesn't have some basic keys like an FSD key or landing gear. Once you get used to it, I'm sure you can become a very good pilot with it.Ĭontroller is the most relaxed, at least for me(xbox360). I know a lot of people prefer this setup, but it's very very weird at first. Keyboard and mouse had me crashing my sidewinder on the first tutorial. Post/comment not appearing?
